Context and strategic stakes
A leading international industrial group, deeply engaged in an extensive Multi-Cloud strategy (Azure, AWS, GCP), faced significant challenges due to an entirely manual financial governance approach. IT and FinOps teams managed costs through numerous Google Sheets, leading to information silos and countless inconsistencies. Furthermore, CloudHealth, initially selected to centralize data, did not natively cover the billing of complex PaaS services used by the group (Databricks, VMware Engine, MetaVolume) nor the exhaustive tracking of contractual commitments. The objective was to build an automated Single Source of Truth, tailored for Unit Economics analysis.
02 Work carried out
Approach and methodology
To address the tool's incomplete coverage, we first deployed CloudHealth across standard IaaS services from the three providers. Concurrently, our engineers developed and integrated a specific Data Lake (fed by custom collection and normalization scripts) dedicated to ingesting billing telemetry from excluded services (VMware Engine, Databricks, advanced storage). This technological hybridization ensured a 100% exhaustive Multi-Cloud financial database.
